34 weeks

Tomorrow we will have made it to 34 weeks with the twins! Our doctor was very happy that we'd made it to this point, and feels confident in their delivery at any time now. Josh and I were happy to get a good report yesterday. We'll go back in 2 weeks to have another ultrasound. For now, we'll just wait and enjoy these last few weeks we have together before these babies rock our cradle!!!!! Can't wait.

Here are a few twins facts I found:

The world-wide individual twin count is about 125 million.

The overall incidence of twins in the United States is about one in 80 births.

Triplets are born about once in 10,000 births.

Identical twins occur at a constant rate (one in 250 births) regardless of race or ethnic background.

Fraternal twins differ from each other in social development to almost the same degree as single-born siblings, especially if they are of different sexes.

Female fraternal twins have an increased chance to have fraternal twins at an actual rate of about one in 60 births or more.

Male fraternal twins do not have increased chances for having twin children.

Twins have been known to develop their own dialect, or language. This is known as "cryptophasia", and only they can understand what is being said.

There is a special place in heaven for the mother of twins (triplets, etc.) :)

Getting Ready!!

Well, the twins have a place to rest their heads now. They can officially come. We finally got their baby beds! I had no idea the fun I would have preparing their nursery. It has been such a joy for me to create a special place for them.

We also went to the doctor last week to see how they're growing. The doctor estimated their weight at around 4 lbs. They are both the size that a singleton baby would be at this point. She told us that they are not measuring small at all for twins at this point. We'll see what they make it to on the scales once they arrive!

Here's the guys working on their latest project - some bookcases for the babies room. They look SO great! We're going to paint them this week. I'll take some more pictures once they're painted.

2 days before the twins arrived....

2 days before the twins arrived....
I am so thankful my Dad took this picture....to remind me what it felt like to hold two precious lives inside of me...

Be encouraged!

Lord fill my heart with Yours
that I may know Your will,
those things that I should act upon
and when you want me still.

Guard my mind from useless thoughts
that clutter, harm, confuse.
Create in me a closeness
that Your course I'll always choose.

Clear my hearing, teach me
to identify the lies,
that I may only hear the truth
of who I am in Christ.

Lord, satisfy and fill me
with Your Spirit from above,
that I may truly know the freedom
of Unfailing Love.

Then planted deeply in that love,
my heart in full surrender,
Lift the veil for all to see,
my life display Your splendor.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

I BELIEVE......

I BELIEVE......
You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11
