Fairhope 5K

Well not much going on here today, besides............
in less than 4 short hours I will be running in my very first 5K since college!! I am nervous...SO nervous! I power walk every week, and do my occasional cardio-core class on THurs. nights when I can make it, but running is so different, and it's a race! It benefits the Fairhope Library running for reading program. So I thought I would blog about this and get a little nervousness off my chest. I will be happy to make it without stopping! Check back tomorrow for my results!!!! :)

hugs

My Daddy is Josh, and my Mom thinks I look like him in this picture!

Did you know that hugs have proven health benefits? One study showed it can even reduce blood pressure and increase levels of oxytocin! And look at someone's face when they're hugging - happiness!

a magical day!

We are finally home from our trip to Florida, Georgia and Tennessee!!! (Orlando with Josh for work, Atlanta with Josh for work/meeting/great family visit, and I to Nashville for Kara's bridal shower!)
Whewwww!
It was looong, and fuuun! We enjoyed every minute of it. I have to brag on the twins, because I think they get the award for the best toddler travelers! They did so great the entire time. More pictures to come, but I had to post this favorite of mine of them peeking over the fence to see Cinderella's princess castle!

Easter

We had a wonderful morning at church! They loved the nursery, and neither of them wanted to leave when we came to pick them up. WOW! We have come a long way.
Not the best Easter pictures, but it was very foggy that morning. Guess I'll have to dress them back up pretty on a sunny day!

the glass chapel

I wanted to share a place of beauty today for your Good Friday, that came to mind early this morning. I know most of my posts are about the twins, bc most of you view our blog to see them, but at times the Lord places something on my heart to share. This is the Thorncrown Chapel in Eureka Springs, AR. My family used to travel here each summer, and my parents always took us to visit this chapel. It is a chapel made completely of glass. And it is breathtaking! It has always had a special place in my heart, perhaps because of it's simple beauty and how it stands alone amongst beautiful woods. It came to my mind early this morning as I was thinking about the cross and beautiful places, and how what beauty awaits us in heaven someday.

Happy Easter to you and your family!

and from the hymn, Ah, Holy Jesus

Therefore, kind Jesus, since I cannot pay Thee,
I do adore Thee, and will ever pray Thee.
Think on Thy pity and Thy love unswerving,

Not my deserving.

2 days before the twins arrived....

2 days before the twins arrived....
I am so thankful my Dad took this picture....to remind me what it felt like to hold two precious lives inside of me...

Be encouraged!

Lord fill my heart with Yours
that I may know Your will,
those things that I should act upon
and when you want me still.

Guard my mind from useless thoughts
that clutter, harm, confuse.
Create in me a closeness
that Your course I'll always choose.

Clear my hearing, teach me
to identify the lies,
that I may only hear the truth
of who I am in Christ.

Lord, satisfy and fill me
with Your Spirit from above,
that I may truly know the freedom
of Unfailing Love.

Then planted deeply in that love,
my heart in full surrender,
Lift the veil for all to see,
my life display Your splendor.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

I BELIEVE......

I BELIEVE......
