pumpkin time!

We got our pumpkins! Don't you just love getting your pumpkins? : )

There's been that crisp morning air down here on the coast, so we're diving into fall with some beautiful pumpkins from the farmers market down the street.
Our Lukey boy has been very under the weather most of the week : ( but thankfully, he seems better and on the mend today. I kept them home from school yesterday, and decided to take them somewhere fun. They loved seeing all the pumpkins and picking out the ones they wanted. Too hard to take pictures there, so i just snapped these when we got home! I'm really hoping for a good old fashioned hayride and bonfire this year.

Happy Fall!

Now I can't wait to really start my baking!!!!!!

I'm thinking about....cookies!!

I am not supposed to be blogging right now!
But...I had to share this website before I forget about it, walk away from my computer, and never find it again.
I was looking to make something sweet for the weekend....and I waaas tasting a homemade apple pie. Then, I came across this website and I'm thinking cookies!!!

This little website is great ...all sorts of recipes, not just sweets. I also love that she categorizes by seasons, and types of foods so it's user friendly. If I have a whole bag of apples that I dont know what to do with...I click on apples! It's easy as...PIE! : )

Hope you like it!

Here's to hoping you have a sweet weekend!!!

my heart's song

I placed a new song on the top of my playlist that has become very special to me. A friend shared it with me recently, and I really love it because it's just so true of my hearts cry. As my Mother in law and I were in a bookstore this morning, I came across Beth Moore's new book called So Long Insecurity.....Has anyone read this? I read the first chapter, and really was intruiged by her thoughts. I have read two of her books and really love how her love for Jesus is just REAL! She talks about the insecurities we face in this world as women, and how our world presents us with all this stuff we think we have to be as wife, mother, friends, sisters....when really all that is so far from the way Jesus wants us to see ourselves. The world tells us to focus on what the world thinks is pretty, but it is when we take our eyes off of ourselves that we become beautiful, and fulfilled, and secure!!! It is truly an honor to know and love the Lord, and find our security in none but Him! And to know that each new day, we can begin again, we can always find assurance in knowing he is a gracious, forgiving God, full of love and open arms to anyone that will turn to Him! We dont have to be perfect!!!! How reassuring and weight-lifting!!! And how thankful I am for a Mother that truly, truly modeled this sincere love for the Lord! I did not purchase the book, but I really want to soon. So...take a minute and listen to the words of the song and ask the Lord to fill you with none but Jesus.

Have a beautiful day my friends!!!!!!!

savanny

Our trip to Savannah.....to see our Shelly!!!

Last week we had the priviledge to tag along with Nina on a roadtrip to Savannah, GA to visit Shelly! I was thrilled when my Mom asked us to go with her bc I try to never miss an opportunity to go and visit someone I love. And being with Shelly is always fun! She's a positive person...always encouraging others. She's one of those people who is always looking on the brighter side of life...which is probably why she is so artistic and so unimaginably brilliant when it comes to color, depth, vision of things. The average person looks at an object and sees it for exactly what it is, but when Shelly looks at something, she sees it in a very different light than the rest of us. It is truly inspiring to be around her. So....she's been telling me to bring the twinks to Savanny ...and maybe she never thought we'd actually come!!!! : ) haha...but we did and it was pure delight!!!! She made everything so special for them, with all her touches. The twins went wild running through Forsyth park, seeing all the huge trees and people and parks and dogs, and even enjoyed Tybee Island beach one day.

When we got there she had a party set up for us in her living room...

We had many picnics in the park because it is right out her front door!

my kissing boy loving his auntee Shay shay

running shoeless in the grass...such freedom she'd never known!!

Shelly would pick them up to feel those "things that were hanging" ...(as the twins would say)
She didnt just say...yes look at those things...she gave them a tactile experience. Thank you Shelly!

She gave us a lesson on how to make hanging flowers for a party, a gift topper, or just for yourself!

The MOST fun!

And lets not forget our girls night "in"...."the Sum"thing fabulous wine
paired with homemade chocolate sauce...made by Jeremy. Newmans Own chocolate bar, melted down with Heavy whipping cream...eaten with a spoon! Seriously you have to try it!

the best, the best, the best time!
Oh to love you : )

happy happy happy happy...

This "guy"

Well, I can't even get started talking about him. He's just one those few people we all know that is just awesome. He's hilarious, laid-back, sincere, honest, cool, and dare I say, he is so very sweet. Being the only boy amongst us four girls growing up...can you even imagine? I love him with all my heart and he deserves an unbelievable birthday weekend....so that's just what he's going to get.....!!!! Oh and this picture is from 2 years ago in the grove...the three Ole Miss grads of the family.

I love you "guy" and will forever be your ceeez...

Happy, happy, happy, happy Birthday to YOU!!!!

2 days before the twins arrived....

2 days before the twins arrived....
I am so thankful my Dad took this picture....to remind me what it felt like to hold two precious lives inside of me...

Be encouraged!

Lord fill my heart with Yours
that I may know Your will,
those things that I should act upon
and when you want me still.

Guard my mind from useless thoughts
that clutter, harm, confuse.
Create in me a closeness
that Your course I'll always choose.

Clear my hearing, teach me
to identify the lies,
that I may only hear the truth
of who I am in Christ.

Lord, satisfy and fill me
with Your Spirit from above,
that I may truly know the freedom
of Unfailing Love.

Then planted deeply in that love,
my heart in full surrender,
Lift the veil for all to see,
my life display Your splendor.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

I BELIEVE......

I BELIEVE......
You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11
