The things they do..

I just think this is funny.....

These pictures were taken with my camera phone, and it pains me to put such poor quality photos up - but this made me laugh tonight...

The babies have started putting their sippy cups into a regular cup, (or measuring cup in Luke's case) and drinking them.
I think they do it because it makes them feel like they are being big.  They are doing lots of things like this....but I just noticed what they were doing tonight, and it was actually very smart of them, I think :)

Balloons and chocolate milkshakes!

These are a FEW of our favorite things at 18 months!

Which are also a few things that calm 2 unhappy twins after a check up :)

A special day, calls for special treats!

So, here we are today on our 18 months birthday...

after a long morning at our check up and the park, we are going to take a long nap today...
but not before putting on one shoe each and pushing around our toys :)

It's a good day!

the gifts

Just one of the many amazing things I love about God's beautiful creation of the human body is the gifts of the senses....seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, touching.......
please don't ever take it for granted one day...

But still my favorite quote from Helen Keller states.....

The most wonderful things in life cannot be seen or heard, but are felt with the heart

If you click on these pictures....you will see the detail that I love, the sand on Isabel's elbow and the dirt on her feet and knees.....enjoying being a child!

Thankful in my 30's!

LOVE is the only word that can describe what my sweet family did for me to happily wish me into my thirties!
Each day I am amazed by the genuine capacity my family has to love, but I know it comes from my parents ALWAYS putting family first.
So, here's a little look at the party!!!!

I have always told my Mom I wanted to go to Paris!
So, the theme of the party was "Welcome to France"
The entire dinner was just PERFECT, except that Kara and Steven weren't able to be there!   Jeremy is a wonderful cook. He has a natural gift of cooking.  He and Shelly prepared a
FIVE COURSE DINNER!!!!!
Some of the deliciousness we enjoyed was Tapenade with 3 different specialty cheeses with assorted berries and butters, dill shrimp salad, italian
meatball soup, arugula salad with mashed polenta hash, and some kind of amazing chicken, then double chocolate cake with buttercream icing!!!  And everything was completely from scratch.  They cooked for 2 days ahead and spent so many hours preparing.  I can't even begin to thank them enough for such an elegant, truly special evening.

Entrance at Kristen and Brian's house....Clay and Ava always put their special touches to everything we do....

Isabel and Luke always love a fun greeting from their cousins...

Lukey loves Aunt Kristen! :)

I am posting this pic b/c i think it's pretty of Isabel....I think she is looking like such a little lady...and to say Thank you to Kara for sending me these beautiful turquoise earrings from NY!

Some of the delicious french cheeses!

The twins awaiting our company to arrive and go to lunch, on the actual day of my bday..

Lunch was so fun, and the babies were very good!
Thanks Mom!

And here's the cake Josh got....CHOCOLATE....

Thank you to all my adored family and friends for such sweet birthday surprises!

Being thirty is not so bad after all!!!

Happy Birthday, Steven Konrad

Steven was born September 1st, 1982

WAY too many wonderful things to say about Steven........
To list a few he is a brilliant thinker, enlightener, musician, artist, and has
an absolute heart of GOLD!
He's a treasure to our family, especially since he's the only boy!!

We love you so so much Steven

Steven and his beautiful Rebekah, with Isabel and Luke back in April of this year.

The fun returns!!!

I'm really, really excited!!!!
My sister, Shelly is coming home on Saturday!!!
If you read this blog, you know she's been traveling for the past 6 months.
She's going to be here for at least 2 weeks, maybe longer.  I cannot wait to see her.
It's been a long time since these three girls were together for more than a day or two!

It's always a special occasion when my brother or sisters come home!

January 2007 in Miami, FL!  Celebrating Shelly's 30th birthday!

2 days before the twins arrived....

2 days before the twins arrived....
I am so thankful my Dad took this picture....to remind me what it felt like to hold two precious lives inside of me...

Be encouraged!

Lord fill my heart with Yours
that I may know Your will,
those things that I should act upon
and when you want me still.

Guard my mind from useless thoughts
that clutter, harm, confuse.
Create in me a closeness
that Your course I'll always choose.

Clear my hearing, teach me
to identify the lies,
that I may only hear the truth
of who I am in Christ.

Lord, satisfy and fill me
with Your Spirit from above,
that I may truly know the freedom
of Unfailing Love.

Then planted deeply in that love,
my heart in full surrender,
Lift the veil for all to see,
my life display Your splendor.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

I BELIEVE......

I BELIEVE......
You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11
