bye-bye training wheels!

Look at our boy go!!!

We had a super exciting weekend!  Saturday morning Luke learned to ride his bike without training wheels.  When I saw him riding around like that, it was clear to me that our boy is getting so big.  And once he got going, he hasn't stopped.  Luke's favorite thing to do is to ride his bike, so we knew he would be patient with himself in learning.  Isabel is doing great too!  She still enjoys her little scooter, but I think she's soon going to realize that keeping up with her brother is now a little more challenging.  We took them last night down to the Platte River and enjoyed riding the path that goes along the water.  It was a three mile loop.

Look closely..Josh is carrying the extra weight of a little princess between his seat and the handle bars :)

HAPPY marvelous MONDAY to you!! I am about to tackle a mountain of laundry like you've never seen....but it is sure going to feel good seeing the bottom of all those laundry baskets.  Oh how my heart sings a melody amidst peering down at the vision of a gleaming white bottomed laundry basket..

Am I right?!!

"Natural"ly one of my FAV places!!!!

Blogging twice in a week and it's a double post day...not too shabby, right?!

So today, of coarse you know you can count on a Friday fun post from me...

I am inspired by our little piece of gold {in my eyes} right here in our city, Natural Grocers.  I go there as often as I can, and even sometimes on nights when i sneak out for a little time alone to run an errand or two, I even go there and just browse slowly at the goodness that I sometimes don't have time to look at when I take my two little helpers.

It is one of the reasons we were looking forward to about moving here actually ~ I admit that because it's such a big part of my life, our attempt to eat as healthy as possible.  Now I am not one of those Moms that doesnt let my child eat a ho-ho now and then, come on!  But I try to incoorporate healthy foods into their diet as best I can. And with little Miss Isabel, well she can basically have whatever she wants as far as I'm concerned to get calories on that cutie!  Let me share with you some of the things that I love so much about shopping here ...

* For instance, today we found this local batch of beautiful cherry tomatoes!  They always have local produce from CO and it's always different, what's in season, so we never know what we'll find.

*  THey are bagless, so we're doing good for the earth too! ;)  And baby, you better bring that bag or be prepared to buy a reusable one.  Pretty hard core.  Ever seen that episode of Portlandia where the guy gets in trouble bc he doesnt have his reusable bag? it's hilarious. not a family friendly show, but funny.

*  It is 5 minutes from our house!!

* It's fairly small, so it's simple and easy to get around in.

* 99% of what they sell is USDA organic, so the kids can grab anything off the shelf, and I dont really      have to be worried about what's in it.

* Believe it or not, I spend LESS on groceries shopping here than I ever did before. They are totally, unbelievably reasonable.

*  Because I like that it makes me feel like just a small town gal. ha!

Well....better get going....making a Greek Salad tonight with all those tomatoes and we're celebrating Josh coming back after all week w/out him!!!!!!  And boy are we going to R.E.L.A.XXX!
{And maybe see about him helping me start some wooden frames I want to make....shhh}

I hope you enjoy the last days of summer....Fall and all it's beauty is coming.  What a sweet treat from God for Him to change our seasons all year, as reminders of fresh beginnings.  The seasons of our life I am reminded are not meant to stay the same either....some better than others, some not as we'd hoped, some better than we hoped.  Never knowing what that season will be, there is always beauty within it to discover with God by our sides.   Thanks for reading my blog and letting me share my thoughts, and our lives.  I pray it is a place of JOY and perhaps encouragement for your life.

Blessings for your weekend!

Swim!

This week and last week we had our first official swim lessons!  We are taking the lessons through the Recreation Center here, and it has been wonderful!  They really loved this and it was so nice to be outdoors each morning early, enjoying the water.  They passed Level 1, and will take Level 2 starting in September at the indoor pool.  They offer swimming lessons year round, so it will be a great winter activity for us.

A funny thing about the photos above is the backdrop in the first photo.  As I was snapping, I looked out to see the family of antelope stopping by for their breakfast.  Oh so neat!  :)

more of His grandeur..The beautiful Big Horns!

Isaiah 40:26, 28 “Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth. Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.”

Revelation 4:11
“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”

2 days before the twins arrived....

2 days before the twins arrived....
I am so thankful my Dad took this picture....to remind me what it felt like to hold two precious lives inside of me...

Be encouraged!

Lord fill my heart with Yours
that I may know Your will,
those things that I should act upon
and when you want me still.

Guard my mind from useless thoughts
that clutter, harm, confuse.
Create in me a closeness
that Your course I'll always choose.

Clear my hearing, teach me
to identify the lies,
that I may only hear the truth
of who I am in Christ.

Lord, satisfy and fill me
with Your Spirit from above,
that I may truly know the freedom
of Unfailing Love.

Then planted deeply in that love,
my heart in full surrender,
Lift the veil for all to see,
my life display Your splendor.
