Hooray for Isabel!

Sorry about all the posts...but I wanted to share about Isabel real quick.  A PRAISE - One of her tear ducts has opened!!  This is such a wonderful thing.  I think I blogged about this a while back, but her tear ducts have been clogged due to them never opening, since birth.  Normally, they open by 6 months.  After months of massaging and antibiotic drops, we were supposed to have had the surgery last week!! We had been praying and asked lots of others to pray that her ducts would open on their own.  We saw two ophthalmologists, the second of who gave me so much more encouragement - I got different opinions from them both.  Long story...but in the end, the surgery still might have to take place if the other tear duct does not open.  We do have it scheduled for next month, but I will continue to pray and massage and doctor her little eye in the HOPE that it too might open on it's own.   THe one that has not opened is actually the worse of the two, but it is not uncommon for the duct to open even as late as the 11th and 12th month.   I am hoping for no surgery, but we'll do what's best for Isabel.  I'll keep you posted.

Dont tell....

my Mom :)  or my Mother in law :)....or any Grandmother for that matter...but I carried the twins up the stairs in this basket today....underneath them is their clean clothes ready to be put away.  It would probably scare most people to see the things we do with two babies in arms! Yikes!

Just so you know - we do get out of the house every now and then!  Usually every day, even if it's just for a walk.  Most days I spend tidying up and then it's out for errands or a jog or to the park.  Today though, we were just at home and this is where the babies are happiest, in their home.  And I love that!  They are at the stage where their biggest thrill is to take every nicely folded item right out of the basket and directly on the floor in record time!  Oh well!

I cherish the baby days!!!

And by the way my Mom and Mother in law both read the blog :)

Mardi Gras Parade

Happy Fat Tuesday everyone!  Around here I am dreaming in yellow, purple, and green this time of year because it is EVERYWHERE!  Mardi Gras is like bigger than Christmas here.  The schools have been out yesterday and today.  It's weird- but very fun.  Here we are at the Mardi Gras parade.  It was FREEZING, but worth it to see the lights, and get some beads and a moon pie!

What are we doing in our PJ's at the Mardi Gras parade??  Staying out past our bed time!!!

This is a really bad picture, but I was trying to get the float, they were going super fast.

I have to say the very best thing about Mardi Gras is a Cinnamon King Cake!!!!

Poor Livy :(

This is Olivia Ann, our cousin :)

This is also Olivia Ann, who had a rough day :(   She had to go to the doctor today to find out that she is allergic to penicillin.  And look how happy she is even with this horrible rash.  She is such a good baby girl!  We love you Livy and send you hugs and kisses and hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Dad

My Dad brings us paper towels almost every time he and my Mom come to see us because he can get them free for us! And we go through them so fast.  I am probably the worst waster of paper towels ever!! I must use a roll a day, or so it feels like.  He comes at least once a week, so we have an entire closet full of  paper items. We have essentially not bought any paper items(paper towels, toilet paper, kleenex, baby wipes..) in several years because of this!!  These things add up, so we are grateful....and so are Luke and Isabel.  They are looking at Pops when I took this picture.  He piled them all on the floor to see what the babies would do...of course they loved it!!!  Pops always brings FUN FUN to our house :)  Thank you Pops!

beautiful beach

These are just a few of my favorite pictures of our weekend in Watersound beach! You know me, I took too many :)  There was not a cloud in the sky both days.  There was just a slightly cool wind.  This time at the beach, Luke and Isabel crawled like speedracers all over the sand.  We had to keep them both from going into the icy water.  They did not try to eat the sand, only the seaweed - of which there was not much.   This was a very fun trip!!  I'll try to post more of them later...

sweet

This is my favorite thing to do - Pat-a-cake!  I do it immediately upon waking and whenever I am happy or listening to music or riding along in the car, or just loving life as a little girl!

2 days before the twins arrived....

2 days before the twins arrived....
I am so thankful my Dad took this picture....to remind me what it felt like to hold two precious lives inside of me...

Be encouraged!

Lord fill my heart with Yours
that I may know Your will,
those things that I should act upon
and when you want me still.

Guard my mind from useless thoughts
that clutter, harm, confuse.
Create in me a closeness
that Your course I'll always choose.

Clear my hearing, teach me
to identify the lies,
that I may only hear the truth
of who I am in Christ.

Lord, satisfy and fill me
with Your Spirit from above,
that I may truly know the freedom
of Unfailing Love.

Then planted deeply in that love,
my heart in full surrender,
Lift the veil for all to see,
my life display Your splendor.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

I BELIEVE......

I BELIEVE......
You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11
