Home

I love to take pictures, if you can't tell.  I especially love taking pictures of Luke and Isabel, and attempting to capture sweet moments.  These are some I played with, and put an antique wash on to look softer.

Luke the crawler/cruiser..what's next??

You can see from the picture how quickly he moves...

I realized I had not done a post to announce Luke's ability to crawl.  It's actually not easy keeping up with all the new things they do.  Luke has been crawling since he turned about 6 1/2 months old.  THey are now 7 months and 1 week old.  He is also pulling up.  He goes everywhere...and fast.  I NEVER would have dreamed I would have a crawler on my hands this soon.  At least we can get used to one crawling before we have two - that's a good thing, let me tell you.  I can't IMAGINE if Isabel was doing what Luke was doing too.  WHEW!!  We will be investing in the "baby gate" for upstairs. We have even bought those cruiser diapers for him. Isabel, as you can see from the previous video, LOVES to watch her big twin brother.  He's like - excuse me...I gotta move Isabel. it is party time for Luke

Luke/Baby A's first teeth!

As many of you know, Luke was "Twin A"  during my pregnancy and also considered "Twin A"  after he was born because he was born first.  It's confusing, but if he had been born second he still would have been "Twin A" in utero because he was lower in my uterus, but "Twin B" if he'd been born second. They label them before they're born as A and B, according to their position, then after their born,  A and B according to their birth order.  Ours stayed Twin A (Luke) and Twin B (Isabel) the whole time.  So....anyways,  Luke/Twin A is getting his first two teeth!  The very tips have bud through the gums.  Josh was actually the one that discovered this today!  He's the one always sticking his fingers in their mouths :)   I do have a feeling Isabel's are coming soon too.  I said all that about the twin a/b thing because it is so interesting to watch them develop as twins. Now, I don't have an older child or anything else to compare to, but I still think it's interesting. Some things they wake up and do on the same DAY, other things, one is doing and the other is still not.  This may only interest me, but I am blogging about it partly because I don't want to forget this day, and it's sort of an ordeal getting the baby book out..etc...so this way I can keep track!!

And....here's a list of Top Ten Things Never To Say To a Mother or Twins or Multiples, found from an article on momsmagazine.com.  Josh and I were laughing because we literally get most of these on a daily basis!!   It might surprise you  - but I get #2 pretty often!  Hello??? I actually dont ever mind people stopping me - I know it's fun to see twins, and most people are very sweet. But please people - if you ever see a mom of two or more....just smile and get the door for her :)

1.  You must have your hands full!
2.  Are they identical? (especially if they are clearly a boy and girl)
3.  Did you use
fertility drugs?
4.  Do twins run in your family?
5.  Better you than me!
6.  How do you tell them apart?
7.  Are they all yours?
8.  Which one is the smart one?
9.  You’re lucky you got your family all in one shot.
10. I always wanted to have twins!

Twinkies swinging!!

I finally figured out how to send video's from my phone to my computer!  Not the greatest quality filmmaking, but... here's one of our day of swinging in the park anyway.  It sounds like Luke says "hey" to me after I say "hey luke"   But I just realized you'll have to scroll down and pause the music on the bottom of the page if you want to hear it.   Isabel is way more intrigued by the little boy getting on the slide next to her.  Nonetheless...this was very fun! You can push play at the same time and see them swinging together!!   I know - I'm a first time mom - sorry!   Everything must be documented!!!

Ok...I'm going to lay on the couch and do nothing!!  My babies are sound asleep :)

Oxford

Isabel

Here are some sweet pictures shelly took of Isabel behind this marimekko fabric.  The ones taken with Shelly's camera turned out much better, but these are a few.  Kara was awarded an internship at the Marimekko store in Oxford this semester.  It is pretty amazing that they have a store there, and even more amazing for her to have this experience when she graduates.  She is doing window designs, and all the creativite display for their store.  She is extremely talented in the way of design using fabric and textiles.

 Luke's are coming....taken with Shelly's camera.

Little Drummer

My Daddy bought me this new set of drums!!!

I LOVE them.

2 days before the twins arrived....

2 days before the twins arrived....
I am so thankful my Dad took this picture....to remind me what it felt like to hold two precious lives inside of me...

Be encouraged!

Lord fill my heart with Yours
that I may know Your will,
those things that I should act upon
and when you want me still.

Guard my mind from useless thoughts
that clutter, harm, confuse.
Create in me a closeness
that Your course I'll always choose.

Clear my hearing, teach me
to identify the lies,
that I may only hear the truth
of who I am in Christ.

Lord, satisfy and fill me
with Your Spirit from above,
that I may truly know the freedom
of Unfailing Love.

Then planted deeply in that love,
my heart in full surrender,
Lift the veil for all to see,
my life display Your splendor.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

I BELIEVE......

I BELIEVE......
You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11
