new addition!

You know there's just those people in life that are good. You may know one, or you may know two, but I bet you don't know many more than that. They are rare, they are special, they have a heart of PURE gold, and I bet if you looked inside, it really would be made from gold.
Two of the few I know are my Dad and my husband. THey're those people that you really do wonder.....how is he always that nice?? They're always ready...and not just willing, but excited to do anything you ask or need, giving so unselfishly with their time and efforts. So this weekend, they were ready...tools in hand, and love in their hearts, to work together to build these beautiful new custom wood panels on our home!
They make a GREAT team!

About 6 months ago, we decided we would like to put up something to replace the hanging jasmine that did provide some privacy, but it was bulky, starting to look thin, and was always in the way. So, Josh ran the idea across my Dad's brain, and immediately they both started brainstorming...jotting down their ideas together.... Fast forward to this weekend.........

They started at 1:30 pm on Saturday afternoon, and finished Sunday evening about 7...only stopping to eat or make a trip to Lowes. The twins were their mini helpers the whole time, calling them the "worker mans" and my Mom was a saint...helping me around the house and cooking meals for the hungry workers! The good Lord gave us sunny skies, and happy children, and it all made for a great weekend!
Now all we have left to do is paint them white, and they'll be complete!

tea time

While Josh and I went out of town for an evening earlier this week, the twinks went to stay with my parents. They LOVE going to their grandparents houses! I have to say, they are so fortunate to have two sets of such gracious, fun, and loving grandparents. It's truly a gift we are so thankful for in their lives.

My Mom sent me these pictures while we were away of them having a little tea party.
I thought they were so cute. I mean....can you tell they arent happy or anything?!
She also bought them a new Memory board game, and taught them about pairs, and matching them. We took it home and have been working on it. A fun first game for little ones!

Teacup jewels

I also love jewelry!

I find that I look online and find the neatest ideas, then forget them!
So, I'm going to try to put them on my blog in hopes that I can look back and remember and maybe put some of my finds into a real life project.
I thought this was a pretty cool idea....for placement of jewelry in a drawer instead of a jewelry box, or even just for a few nicer pieces...or ones you wear often. I wish i had all these pretty little cups....or better yet....all these pretty jewels.....

sucre

Ok....I LOVE CHOCOLATE! No...I LUV it! I didnt used to have the chocolate cravings like I do these days....but at the end of the day, I just want some chocolate! It's such a treat i think. So last year....my adorable husband brought me the most amazing Valentine {not to brag on him, but he is pretty spectacular} from this shop in New Orleans ....Sucre. I discovered they have a website and I want you to check it out! If you are ever in New Orleans, and love chocolate, you must make a stop in and get a box...or even just a peice! I also see where you can order online. So, I dont think I have many "male" readers but if so......order these for your love and she will love you forever!!! Or better yet...just order some for yourself ladies! We deserve it! : )

Valentine's day is one of my favorites!

laugh because.....

Because it's Friday!, because humor and laughter strengthen your immune system, boost your energy, diminish pain, and protect you from the damaging effects of stress...Because we're staying inside a lot these cold winter days and making fun out of things we never thought were fun before, because we're taking it a bit easier in 2011,
because raising children brings so much laughter to the walls of our
home and heart........best of all this priceless medicine is fun, free, and easy to use....

Yes...these are EXACTLY what you think they are. Unwrapped and everything!
oops... :)

And a little sweetness...
the little mama rocking her monchhichi dolls....given to her by her Aunt Shelly. Remember these? A vintage toy making it's come back. We love them.

Have a GREAT weekend!

Lukey and the pretzels

One day last week I took Luke to the doctors office. I had brought him a drink, along with a little snack of pretzels and cheese. [knowing he would need it mid-waiting on the doc] So, as he's eating it rather aggressively...[obviously hungry] he stopped, chewed up his bite, and closed the little wrapper, and said...."better save these for Isabel" ; ) Several seconds passed before I could even begin to reply back to him, because I was so moved by his sweet heart!! Oh my goodness....my sweet boy!! So after I welled up inside...I told him "oh precious boy, those are all yours! You can eat all of them. Daddy will get Isabel another snack. Thank you for thinking of your sister." The sweetest part to me about it all, was that it was so obvious he wanted to eat the entire thing, but instead he was going to save them for her. It just melts my heart because even though they fight like cats and dogs some times, they really do have a special place in each of their souls for one another...more times than not, they are always thinking to bring the other one some part of what they are getting, even if it's as simple as a little snack. It's just innate...but it's special. Thank you GOd for teaching me a lesson on giving, on thinking of others, and on selflessness through the heart of my little boy.

Thought you might like that one : )

2 days before the twins arrived....

2 days before the twins arrived....
I am so thankful my Dad took this picture....to remind me what it felt like to hold two precious lives inside of me...

Be encouraged!

Lord fill my heart with Yours
that I may know Your will,
those things that I should act upon
and when you want me still.

Guard my mind from useless thoughts
that clutter, harm, confuse.
Create in me a closeness
that Your course I'll always choose.

Clear my hearing, teach me
to identify the lies,
that I may only hear the truth
of who I am in Christ.

Lord, satisfy and fill me
with Your Spirit from above,
that I may truly know the freedom
of Unfailing Love.

Then planted deeply in that love,
my heart in full surrender,
Lift the veil for all to see,
my life display Your splendor.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
