Sew guess what?

I sewed a panty bag!

Well, I'm not my Mother, and I will never be! She is the most talented seamstress I know and has incredible abilities to create the most lovely art with the use of fabric. I LOVE watching her work and seeing what she creates. It comes naturally to her, and it is a gift. I was lucky enough to have been given her old sewing machine, when she got her super duper new delux digital one this year, so I've been slowly practicing my skills....and will continue to practice, practice, practice. She was over the other day, and helped me make this little panty bag. It was quite simple, but it took her showing me those simple steps that would have taken a whole day to read in a book! These make cute gifts I think, and everyone can use a bag, right!?

Some great tips she gave me in one little lesson:

Much of the enjoyment of sewing is having good materials and working with quality fabric

Always invest in a good pair of scissors

Enough work space is key (large table, lots of room, proper tools)

Enjoy what you sew and who you are sewing for, or else it becomes meaningless

Thanks for sharing your time and gifts with me Mom!

Stay tuned to see what's next........think I'll try a pillow to spice up my living room!

I am so thankful my Dad took this picture....to remind me what it felt like to hold two precious lives inside of me...

Be encouraged!

Lord fill my heart with Yours
that I may know Your will,
those things that I should act upon
and when you want me still.

Guard my mind from useless thoughts
that clutter, harm, confuse.
Create in me a closeness
that Your course I'll always choose.

Clear my hearing, teach me
to identify the lies,
that I may only hear the truth
of who I am in Christ.

Lord, satisfy and fill me
with Your Spirit from above,
that I may truly know the freedom
of Unfailing Love.

Then planted deeply in that love,
my heart in full surrender,
Lift the veil for all to see,
my life display Your splendor.
