the {beautiful} kitchen sink

Is your kitchen sink beautiful?

Kitchen sinks are not beautiful really.  They are the place we stand and wash, and wash, and wash some more, prepare, clean, scrub, mull. They are the place we must spend many hours over. Are they/could they be a blessing in disguise? :) I like to think they could be!  I looked down at mine this morning, in all it's plain, dirty dish loveliness, thinking about a way to bring beauty to mine, to make a place i might "enjoy" perhaps?  Is there something you can find about yours that you like? THankfully I have a window above mine, and it is my saving grace.  Those days I dont want to be standing there, I am able to look UP and out at the outdoors. A window of joy perhaps.  So, today God blessed us with a wonderful gift at our local little grocery store, of these special pumpkins, hand picked by my little ones to grace the perfect place on our window seal.  Perfect. We talked as we picked each one about the colors, the textures, the different sizes, and shapes. Oh, a teaching time for the little ones.  How excited they got at just the simple task of picking out a little pumpkin.  This is the blessing of being a Mother, and thankfulness overwhelmed me as I thought how they were blessed and so was I.  That's God.   So.. I encourage you to do this or something similar with yours.  Bring a little loveliness to your kitchen sink!  Whether a pretty new candle, hand cream, or colorful pumpkins.  Perhaps it will make your duties a little more bearable...enjoyable perhaps :)  And maybe using the time to quiet your heart, pray, or just deep breathe!!!

Just a thought for your Fall day!  I was blessed, and I hope someone else might be too :)

2 days before the twins arrived....
I am so thankful my Dad took this picture....to remind me what it felt like to hold two precious lives inside of me...

Be encouraged!

Lord fill my heart with Yours
that I may know Your will,
those things that I should act upon
and when you want me still.

Guard my mind from useless thoughts
that clutter, harm, confuse.
Create in me a closeness
that Your course I'll always choose.

Clear my hearing, teach me
to identify the lies,
that I may only hear the truth
of who I am in Christ.

Lord, satisfy and fill me
with Your Spirit from above,
that I may truly know the freedom
of Unfailing Love.

Then planted deeply in that love,
my heart in full surrender,
Lift the veil for all to see,
my life display Your splendor.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
