3 weeks today!
Eliza June arrived...
October 8th
2:28 a.m.
19 1/2 in.
7 pounds, 7 ounces
She's an angel and we are SO relieved she is here finally safe and sound.
The birth story of little Miss E is for another post you won't want to miss.
Eliza is named "for" my Mother, who passed away a year ago this October. She used to ask me ..."When is little Elizabeth coming?"
(Her sweet way of asking when and if we would be having another baby)
I always dodged the question...never saying yes, never saying no.
But....
I think she knew.
She had a way of knowing. I believe it to be the living Holy Spirit inside of her, whom she trusted, understood, and listened to. Perhaps she had a dream, a feeling...call it what you may, but she had a way of knowing. I never thought much about her asking me this....and she did on more than one or two occasions.
All this time later....it turned out to be.... a girl...and indeed her little Elizabeth came.
My middle name is Elizabeth. The cousin name to Isabel, is Eliza. So although she does not have the same name as my Mom, I know this is the name she would have wanted her to have...a beautiful, feminine name, all her own, unique and beautiful, just like her Grandmother.
We brought Eliza home from the hospital at 2 days old. My sweet Daddy had come into town the day before she was born.. said he "had a feeling she might be born over the weekend"
Another provisional gift from God. My Dad was here, kids were all tucked in, we were all headed to bed, and Eliza decided to come.....early on a warm, rainy Sunday morning.
It rained the day she was born and for each day we were in the hospital. It was so wonderful!
My Aunt Pam was the first to visit her in the hospital early that morning. Then Luke, Isabel and Pops came around 10 a.m. and brought doughnuts and coffee :)
Then lots of family followed later in the day!!
It was truly a beautiful time.
Week one, Josh and I were here with Eliza, and our wonderful Ruthie came and took Luke and Isabel to Atlanta to enjoy their Fall break and some fun, while we adjusted to baby girl.
Week two, they returned, and Aunt Kristen came in and was AMAZING!!!
She did it all, and I recovered so much that week.
Next came the rest of the family...Aunt Shelly, Uncle Phil and Aunt Kara, Ava, Clay, Olivia and John Brian got to meet her.
We got a few extra days with Aunt Shelly which was SO special!! She took such sweet care of Luke and Isabel and loved so sweetly on Eliza.
Week three, we were on our own and have made big strides in our schedule and learning our new normal as a family of five. Headed into week four, and feeling completely blessed and in awe of our new life with our sweet girl.
Welcome Eliza June!
